Promjena neuroleptičke terapije i maligni neuroleptički sindrom

Change in neuroleptic treatment and neuroleptic malignant syndrome

Psychiatria Danubina 1995;7(3-4):161-8.

The study included 814 patients inpatiently treated at our hospital during 1993. and discharged with the diagnosis of mental disturbance. Diagnostic categorization was based on ICD-IX (codes 290 - 298.9). All patients were treated with neuroleptics. Due to insufficient supply of medicines, the "medicine of choice" chosen for clinical status (expected to be therapeutically effective and with less side - effects) had been changed to "choice and use" neuroleptics that were available at the moment they were needed. The frequency of malignant neuroleptic syndrome (MNS) during the study in 1993. (7 out of 814 subjects, 0.86 %) as compared with the frequency 1989, when there were no problem with medicine supply.
